IronHall privacy policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
IronHall is a chat, meetings and business telephone service provided by ATS Technologies under the IronMesh brand (ironmesh.cloud). This policy covers the IronHall app for Android and iOS and the web app at hall.ironmesh.cloud.
Who is responsible
IronHall accounts are created by an organisation for its own people. That organisation is the responsible party for its users' information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA); ATS Technologies processes it on the organisation's behalf, as its operator. Questions about your account are best sent to your organisation's administrator first. You can also reach us at info@ironmesh.cloud.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, the organisation you belong to and your role in it.
- What you send: messages, files, photos and reactions in chats and rooms.
- Calls and meetings: your microphone and camera are used only while you are in a call or meeting, and only after you allow it. Audio and video are relayed through our servers to the other participants. A meeting is recorded only when a participant starts a recording, and everyone in the meeting is shown that it is being recorded.
- Telephony: if your organisation connects phone numbers, we keep call records (numbers, times, durations) and any voicemail left for you.
- Security records: sign-in times and addresses, and an audit trail of administrative actions, used to protect accounts and investigate abuse.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking. We do not use your information to build profiles, and we never sell it.
Where it is kept and who sees it
IronHall's servers are in South Africa and are operated by ATS Technologies. Everything is encrypted in transit. Your messages are visible to the people in the conversation; administrators of your organisation can manage accounts and see the records the service keeps for the organisation. We share information with nobody else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Messages, files, recordings and voicemail are kept until they are deleted, or for the period your organisation sets. When an account is deleted, its personal details are removed; messages it already sent to other people may remain in their conversations, shown without the person's details, where your organisation's record-keeping requires it.
Your rights and deleting your account
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, object to how it is processed, or ask for your account and data to be deleted. See how to delete your account, or email info@ironmesh.cloud. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Children
IronHall is a workplace service and is not intended for anyone under 18.
